*Dean* 1,594 Posted February 18, 2013 Before surgery a friend asked me if I was going to have "one last big night out" ie a food funeral. I said "I have an inappropriate relationship with food. If I had an inappropriate relationship with my sister, I wouldn't go out on one last date before breaking it off" I don't see any upside to a food funeral. But that's me. PS I don't have a sister

None of the bad stuff has even sounded good enough to eat, but I think I'll still have sushi tomorrow, just in case rice doesn't agree with me after being sleeved. =)
MamaM 72 Posted February 18, 2013 I can honestly say that I don't see what the point of a food funeral would be. I understand the concept but in reality, once you are fully healed and have progressed thru all of the steps your surgeon's guides will bring you thru, there really isn't much of anything you won't every be able to have again. Now, granted, there will be things that you just plain don't want anymore but that's totally different. I am finding that there are certain things I just don't want anymore b/c the thought of it or the taste of it has changed somehow but I'm really able to eat pretty much any thing. Save your money, and your guilt, for something more deserving of both.
mark! 449 Posted February 18, 2013 I thought long and hard about it, but never did it. I really, really came close. I had Chipotle once, steak and veggie burrito and frozen yogurt, but that really wasn't out of the ordinary for me at the time after a big workout, lots of Protein, 60g protein in that one meal. But didn't do the whole all out binge fest, and I felt tons better afterwards.
katsmeow 70 Posted February 20, 2013 I did. I went and had Chinese food before my surgery and loved it.
