Recommended Posts

I have moments of what did I do and moments of excitment like yesterday. My reward for the first 20 lbs was a haircut and I uzed to hate watching cuz all I saw was my double chin but yesterday it was very noticeably smaller. I also bought the cutest top from Sams , yes Sams and it was 2 sizes smaller. I tried it on at home and its gorgeous. I have my Pitt y parties but they dont last too long. I just want time to go by faster! You will get there honey

I'm walking since day one. My husband took days off from work and my sister is my neighbor. Is like this nasty feeling toke over me since yesterday. All my brain keep asking me is why I did this. But thanks to all of yall that are putting a smile on my face

I was feeling the same way! I questioned my decision and regretted it too. Not any more. It will get better. Take antacids. I had gas x which also helped. They sell the ones that dissolve on your tongue. Really helped with the gas. It will get better. Had my surgery on dec. 11th and down 35 pounds. Not regretting it now. Hang in there!

Sometimes our doctors don't prepare us for first few weeks after surgery. It is major surgery and you need time to recover but being sore, sick and miserable during recovery is one thing, regretting having this life changing tool is another. The week before and two weeks after were hard, but not hell. I would do it again. If you want to know hell have a hemerroidectomy- a lovely surgery that I got to experience in my 30's somewhat due to being overweight and eating awful food. Trust me you aren't going to regret this surgery when you cut up your Lane Byant card and the first time you buy size 10!! Two really good days for me! Keep your eye on the prize.

I got sleeve on Friday and I keep asking myself what I have done. I feel down. Can anyone help. I'm feeling depresse. Sleeve therapists where are you?

I felt the same way for the first month and a half. I kept thinking what have I done to myself. I cried all the time in regret. I was an emotional mess. I was soooooooo sick and in sooooo much pain for the first month or so. I had my surgery October 23 of 2012 and I just started feeling whole again not to long ago. My wow moment was when I went wedding dress shopping and I was down 6 dress sizes and could see I actually have a figure now. I looked in the mirror and saw someone who was beautiful for the first time. You will have your wow moment down the road and it will stop you in your tracks. No one can tell you when it gets better because its different for everyone. However I will promise you that if you stay on track and put your whole heart into this life change you will be happy with what you end up with.

That's funny because I also had a hemrroidectomy and I can honestly say I completely agree that that was pure hell! I have had quite a few surgeries and nothing compares to the pain from that! I woke from surgery in excruciating pain and it literally lasted for about 3 weeks! I think if I made it through that I can make it through anything!

You had a pain in the ass for 3 weeks. Yikes. My hubby had his colon put back up into his bum bum talk about pain. This surgery is a walk in the park to that I'm sure.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
