TheGamer 406 Posted February 17, 2013 Also remember that you're eating much less than normal. At this point you may even still be clear liquid only. My understanding is that it's not uncommon for things to er... slow down in that department simply because we're not really eating a lot.
SMO 193 Posted February 17, 2013 I was home 5 days and hadn't gone. I got Equate chewable Fiber Supplement fruit flavored tablets. I chew two of them every day and I have been going every day or every other day since.
Jules55 23 Posted February 17, 2013 Milk of magnesia worked for me.
Misty_eyes 79 Posted February 17, 2013 Chia seeds are truly helpful-- thanks to OTR for this recommendation! You can search "chia seeds" and there's tons of info on this forum.
jen1211 203 Posted February 17, 2013 My surgical PA recommended Miralax as well. Of course now I caught a stomach virus and no longer need it!
JackieV 246 Posted February 17, 2013 Oh man, I feel you on this. I went through about three days of hell. I started upping my fluids and taking 2 stool softeners a day. It finally happened. It actually took 3 or 4 times for it to finally be over. ( this lasted over those days) try not to strain. Since this happened I've been taking those fiber tabs ( surgar free). I went yesterday with no issues. Then a few hours later I went again but it was very loose. ( a nice change). I will be adjusting how much fiber I take until I can find a good middle ground. Anyone else have or had this problem? What can I do!? :-( I had surgery on the 12th too! My doctor said it could take a week to go. I finally went today but it was extremely difficult and extremely painful! I highly recommend that you take a stool softener as soon as possible. I think we are still so dehydrated as well as the fact that we have no substance in our tummies. Hope that helps.....
JeffA70 200 Posted February 17, 2013 The Constipation is ridiculous. Like, in the sense of never before have I been constipated liked this. Ground up some exlax and have tried that unsuccessfully. Will try Milk of Magnesia.
No game 14,437 Posted February 17, 2013 Yep I've resorted to a stool softener every day.. And I'm three months out. It's always been an issue with me so this had just made it a bit worse. When you are a bit more out make sure you get a little bit of veggies in everyday and some people here take chia seeds everyday. Good luck
