I switched from gummies to the Fiber choice sugar free tabs. They work great. Taste like the chewy sweet tarts. I've been toying around with what will work and was really worried leading up to the last movement. Everything was perfect. ( a nice change from the beast last week). I am sticking with 2 tabs during the day.

Glad you have found a good solution. Might work for others too.

I use Nopalina. It has Canadian flax seed, psyllium husk, wheat bran, oat bran, edible cactus, senna leaves, apple extract, orange extract, pineapple extract, and grapefruit extract.

Says it provides Omega 3, 6 and 9

it has worked for me so far. It keeps me regular. I found it at whole foods and Im sure you can find it on line.

It is now 10 days for me and I am 9 days post op. i have taking Miralax and Milk of Mag.. No go.. I am at the point that I am starting to kinda worry. I know I have been doing a lot of liquids but the doc now has me on soft foods since Monday. Going to my first post op appointment Friday, so I hope it happens before.

You may need to try a suppository or enema

Sometimes that's what it takes to get ya started

A serving of Fiber One Cereal every day really helps me. It has a lot of insoluble fiber. The soluble fiber supplements don't do me any good anymore.

I like eating grape nuts in my Greek yogurt

It seems to help but I still suffer

I think I will try more things like y'all have suggested

Lots of good ideas here guys! Thanks! I ended up doing Miralax in a cup of tea. Took a day to work.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
