Woke up the last two nights with the worst dry mouth ever. No signs of dehydration. Anyone else experience this and anything relieve or stop it?

I had this too. I kept a water bottle by my bed and had a sip whenever I got up to take pain meds or use restroom.

I have this too. Only in the nite. Very frustrating. Month out and no meds. I get my fluids??? Not sure how to resolve. Any recommendation from others would be great!

Yes, I have experienced being extremely thirsty at night. I thought it was just me but at my 3 week post op appointment there were 5 sleevers at the nutritionists office. I asked if anyone else was constantly thirsty. It was a unanimous yes! At night particularly was also confirmed. So you are not alone and it does does better.

I also have this more often then I would like, I try to drink more Water before bedtime to avoid it and keep a bottle next to my bed. its annoying!! I think the heat from the furnace and not getting as much fluids is causing it but who knows??

I had this for about the first 6 weeks after surgery. I just kept a water bottle at bedside. In the very beginning I used bioten mouth moisturizing spray at bedtime but I still woke up several times with cotton mouth!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
