it's the fast food...trust me...I dont think humans were actually supposed to eat that stuff lol hate to say it...when I have had to eat it even (what the fast food companies claim) are the healthy choice..I just dont feel as good as real healthy food. If you want to maintain your weight you would need to eat 2,225 cals a day and you could do that EASY without the fast food and feel so much better.

Applebtmgrl77 - I agree, after watching the movie "Super Size Me" I began to think the same way.

There are 32 ingredients in a chicken McNugget. 32!

They admitted that the more processed a food is, the lower the nutrition and it becomes less healthy to eat. I can only imagine what they do to the Big Macs to make'em taste so good.

If you haven't heard about the movie, the star went on a 30 day diet, eating exclusively McDonalds' food for every meal.

At the start, he went to 3 doctors for a baseline reading and their expectations of what would happen to him. They figured he'd gain weight and have higher cholesterol levels. But by the last week, they were telling him to stop eating fast food - it was destroying his body.

Check out reviews, it was a great movie and will really open your eyes to the stuff they put into fast food. http://goo.gl/n8BPk

I'm in the same spot, having to try and maintain for a few more months and it is driving me nuts! I ended up losing 10 pounds in January due to stress and financial issues which put me under 40 BMI so I had to gain that weight back >.< It feels so weird to not be excited about losing weight just yet.

I know that with out this surgery I'll never be able to live the healthy life that I want for myself and I can't seem to reach that goal on my own. I'm willing to do what ever it takes to get that approval so that in the long run I can live the life I want to live.

For me it is a complete mind game. I'm trying to stay at a certain weight, which seems so completely backwards because I know how badly I want to live a better life.

Hopefully it gets better!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
