JennyBeth 127 Posted February 17, 2013 This might sound like a silly question, but can you wear a regular bra (underwire) right after surgery? I've heard it recommended to wear a sports bra, but I find it hard to find one that fits well and is not like a wrestling match to get on! I think it would be difficult to get one on being sore. I guess I could go home from the hospital not wearing a bra at all or while I'm recovering at home, but I plan on returning to work 1-2 weeks after surgery? FishingNurse 1,211 Posted February 17, 2013 I had no troubles at all putting my normal Lane Bryant heavy duty under wire bra back on at all. :-)
No game 14,437 Posted February 17, 2013 I wore a light weight cami sport bra (like this one) to be comfy in the hospital. It was just better for me as far as getting around but also sleeping a lot and it had a front closure!
deltadawn817 106 Posted February 17, 2013 I wore my under wire But I wish I brought something to stick under the wire for padding. I just tucked my shirt under it when I wasn't around people or in public.
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted February 17, 2013 I vote for a wonderbra. I finally figured out where they got their name from. It's because when women take them off we wonder where the tata's go??

JuliannaJ 83 Posted February 17, 2013 I had to buy new bras post op...cause that is where the weight came off first (figures!)..but because I think the size will change some more over time I bought some Genie bras from Walmart so I will get more use out of them. They do run small though so I would go up a size from what the package says. They are made of a nylon type material for stretch and they are inexpensive.
