Forcing the motherF***ing water down!

Recommended Posts

Today marks almost the end of my first week of my 30day workout challenge. it also is the first day I was able to drink an entire bottle of Water in less than an hour. I have been thirsty like I am going to die for over a month. Water taste awful now, makes me feel very queasy and goes down "hard"no matter what I mixed it with. I decided a week ago I am not going to die if I drink it anyways and I don't want to be dehydrated anymore. I figured the worst case was I would throw it up and then drink some more. Turns out It just sucks going down and then I feel great :) I have only lost about 40 lbs from surgery and about 56 from my highest consistent weight but I am down from a size 20/22 to a 15/16 I am very pleased and I am hoping by focusing on getting more fluids in that the weight-loss and my stamina will remain steady a little longer. (and no I am not hurting myself by making myself drink more water than makes me feel queasy and yes my doctor knows and wants more water for me)

I hike up a trail this week and it felt amazing! the ledge in the photo is where i hiked up to! it was brutal but awesome

I added some current pics...I tried to find befores to add but I found myself so disappointed I couldn't look directly at the screen sorry maybe in the future.

Love your title! It could be my daily anthem....

I've started using a straw which has helped...for some reason it goes down easier and quicker....

Where is the location of your hike? Looks like a beautiful area..

I feel ya! I have started buying the 8oz bottles because it just seems easier to get down. I USED to luv drinking Water and never had issues but it's different now. I have tried crystal light and mio but everything just tastes too sweet:-\ I guess it's a good problem to have because I don't crave anything sweet at all. Makes me nauseous. ..I luv ur pics! I live in the tx panhandle...nothing pretty here!! Congrats on ur weightloss!!

highest weight 224#
sx weight 212# (11/20/12)
current weight 180#(2/8)

I had a problem with Water going down "hard" to. I bought the mini water bottle with the squirt sport tops and it helped a lot. I guess just squirting it in my mouth gives me better sized sips and way less air. So far it has helped tremendously.

Well congrats girl, you look great. As far as the Water have you tried varying temperatures? I usually can only drink room temperature.

You definitely do not want to get dehydrated! I just returned home from a four day hospital stay for dehydration. Not fun! However, they hydrated me to the max, where I now have to take a Water pill for a few days to relieve the swelling in my legs, ankles, and feet! Go figure!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
