Lisa R. 9 Posted February 16, 2013 I've noticed there are a lot of people saying they have a liquid diet for up to 2 weeks before surgery. In my case, I'm only required to do that the day before surgery. What factors decide on the amount of days? My surgery is on February 20th.

I had to do a diet for 2 weeks but mine consisted of 2 Protein drinks and one small meal. I do have to do all liquids on Monday but only after I have a light Breakfast. My surgery is Tuesday the 19th. Just follow what your doctor says and you should be fine.
TheGamer 406 Posted February 17, 2013 Another factor is your starting weight/bmi. I think, in large part, it comes down to if the doctor thinks liver size will be an issue. Most pre op diets are to shrink the liver.
