Hey ,

My Name is Ashley and I was banded on November the 8th. I'm just kinda overwhelmed with what I can and cannot do at the moment. With work and school and everything else, it's hard to have to worry about what and when to drink and eat, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.:clap2: . I was banded by Dr. Marsden in Lewisville. My current weight is 294 and I hope to lose about 150.00 pounds.

Being as busy as you are can be a blessing. Your world will no longer be centered around food and where you can go to get ice cream and all you can eat buffets. After you get into a routine of the foods you can eat and what you can tolerate and enjoy and the pounds come off you will be full of energy and life. This is the beigning of your journey. Remember... even thin people think about what they should eat to maintain their weight and deny themselves certain high fat foods. They are not thin because thay don't watch what they eat. Stay the course..

Hey Ashley,

Welcome to LBT and congratulations on being banded.

Learning to eat with the band when on the run is indeed one of the hardest parts. It's so easy to stop at McDonald's or grab a slice of pizza or what not, but finding a place that offers a balanced, quick meal that is band friendly can be a real challenge. You'll get there though. You'll end up finding your favorite restaurants and frequenting them or packing your lunch/snack so you know you're prepared.

Good luck in your journey :peep:

Congrats on being banded, Ashley! My advice is this...eat to the point of satisfaction, not to the point of being full. Remember that you have been given a tool and use the tool... you need to CHOOSE to make good choices and CHOOSE to change your habits. You can eat anything you want still, you just have to make the choice to eat good things and not bad things.

You'll get a lot of support here and tons of advice and suggestions. Read everything you can.

Congrats on being banded! I'm a Nov. 8th bander too! Hope all is going well for you. I understand about the stress factor. Our house flooded 2 days before I had surgery. I've been feeling guilty that I haven't been able to help my husband deal with the flood clean up for the past week. I'm finally back to work (the past 2 days), and able to get some help from my kids (6 & 5). Good luck and you can pm me if you want to talk.

Congratulations, Ashley! I know what you mean about being busy and having to focus on what you can and can't eat. I was banded on Nov 21, so I'm still new to this. I'm learning alot of this group and I'm sure you will to.

Hi Ashley, welcome to the lapband forum. It sounds like you are really busy. Just make sure you stay on the doctor's diet. You will do fine. Good luck.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
