pizza cups

Recommended Posts

Well, with in reason, OK, but most pizza and pizza cups are to loaded with calories. I searched for variation to this and came up calories cut like this.

I split each of reduced fat Pilllsbury flake grands biscuits, flattened the halves and made small discs and used a muffin tin, the dough was still raw and each disc 80 cals.

Stuffed cups in muffin tin with 1-1/2 tablespoons filling;

I used browned ground turkey, onions and olives, with (edit: :blink: ) (Worcestershire? )sauce and some italian dried spice ( sauce will be spiced any way), light grated parmesan. Mix the filling with about a 3/4 tablespoon of pizza sauce for each cup your filling.

now 80 calorie biscuit halves in muffin tin cups and added filling with sauce mixed in, can be a little more generous with fillings, bake at 350 degrees for 10 or 11 minutes. ((Added: some times now bake these at higher temp and longer to thoroughly cook the dough, you can also heat fillings in micro prior to baking to speed up times.))

Take from oven and top with tablespoon shreded mozarelle that you choose, I used kraft product has cream cheese added to mozarelle and goes so very well with the biscuit crust.

Bake an additional 4 or 5 minutes to get cheese to melt as desired and finish cooking process.

let cool, can be made 2 at a time or fill muffin tins, tasted very good to me, my calculation leaves the cals with in dietary scale nearly halved which I desire instead of original recipe of 300 cals.

That was the absolutely most interesting spelling of Worcestershire sauce I have ever seen. You get points for that one. Your recipe also sounds quite good. I'm going to try it. Thanks. ( And please don't mind the tease. I'm a writer with a degree in British history so such a mistake just jumps out and hits me in the nose.)

Check out Emily Bites website. She has these lasagna cupcakes that use wonton wrappers. Soooooo good and my niece and nephew said they tasted like pizza. I used 99%fat free turkey instead.

The biscuits are a nice idea though and prob about the same calories as 2 wontons

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
