SimplyFAB 83 Posted February 15, 2013 I know I've seen a thread out there regarding this topic but I wasn't able to find it. I've noticed I've been having numerous nightmares per week post my surgery. Anyone know why this happens? Is there a way to prevent or minimize the nightmares? joatsaint 2,814 Posted February 16, 2013 My 1st week post-op I was having a disturbing dream over and over. I was in a post-apocalyptic world, taking psych eval tests to determine if I would fit into a new group that was forming to rebuild society. And I had a very frustrating recurring dream about uploading video files to a website, but it was taking forever for the files to convert and upload! After thinking on it, I think it was my mind's way of dealing with the pain from surgery and the frustration of how long it was taking to recover.

Lorraine Freeman 47 Posted February 16, 2013 It's because your body and mind have gone through a trauma of sorts, so your mind reacts in giving you nightmares. Xx
SusieK710 130 Posted February 16, 2013 I was on Levaquin antibiotic for a couple of days and had ghastly dreams. Read up on Levaqin and its a side effect. When it was done so were the nightmares.
