Smokey12 71 Posted February 16, 2013 I'm on Abilify and Effexor. When I first went on those meds, I gained a ton of weight. Now that I am post sleeve (12/17/12), my wt loss is on the slower side, and I was wondering if it is from the meds too. Curious to see responses to this post as well. fatrosie 176 Posted February 16, 2013 I'm on one of the biggest culprits for meaningless weight gain, lithium. My psych doctor said that for some reason his patients who get wls don't have the weight gain effects after the surgery, but I don't understand why that would be possible.
