But i was told by my PCP in order to submit i have to have an xray and cardiac clearance..my question is..do i have to have cardiac clearance before my advocate submits to the ins company...i hate to have this hold of submittal??? dust 54 Posted February 15, 2013 you need to ask your insurance company. my surgeon required some testing that the insurance company didn't. if all the insurance requirements are met then you can ask them to submit, but my surgeon's office wanted his own requirements met first before they would submit. good luck, stick with it! Chaparra 85 Posted February 15, 2013 I wasn't scheduled for any pre-op appointments until my insurance approved the surgery. After I got approval, I had to have an EKG to make sure my heart can handle surgery, blood work, and an upper endoscopy. It's frustrating to have to go to all these appointments, but I think it's good because if they find any problems that you are unaware of, you can get it treated right away.
