Dear husband & his thoughtful gift

Recommended Posts

So, my dear husband - ALWAYS gave me chocolates for Valentines Day - even when I pleaded with him prior to the day not too - chocolate is my weakness. This year (I was sleeved Dec 3, 2012) I didn't think I had to ask him not to give me candy and I was right!! He gave me a Nike+fuel Bracelet. I can set fitness goals and track my progress on my phone and computer. He's a dear, dear man.

LOL, it took surgery for him to finally 'hear' me tho!!

Looked it up. Hag is WAY more expensive than chocolate. Hehe.

So what exactly does it do?

I didn't know what this was so I checked it out on Amazon. This is really expensive! Do people find them that useful? I use my fitness pal to track things.

Wish i could say the same! I am about two weeks pre op and my husband bought me a teeny little box of three chocolates-which i was very happy with. Then he pulled out the largest box oi have ever seen. When i hold it in front of me you cant see me! What was he thinking? I want to throw it away!

My hubby took me to see a movie. I am one month post op so he thought hard about what he could do. dinner out was a no go. candy or chocolates was also out. So he bought me a card and took me to the movies:)

I don't know the cost - but he's a very generous guy so I wouldn't be surprised. I've set up the band on the computer and my phone. What I find is that it motivates me to move more and that's just gotta be good. I started with a modest 'Fuel' goal and plan to up it as I get more fit. AND when it stops being so cold and snowy here in MA and I can be outside for a longer period of time.

I do use Myfitness pal to track my food, liquid and I also post my exercise there.

How do you like yours? I just got mine today and I'm so stoked to try it out! One of my professors told me about it, so I got one for both myself and my husband (he had VSG as well).

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
