I was stalled for 5 weeks. It can be very, very frustrating.

I started taking mega doses of Vitamin d3 and I'm back on track.

Type "week 3 stall' into the search box in the top right hand corner of this form..............you will be inundated with related posts. It is VERY common to have a stall around Week 3 post-op.

"mega does of Vitamin d3" can be dangerous. if you decide to try it then consult with your doctor and start with no more than 10,000iu daily. i started taking d3 a while back and it made a HUGE difference in how i feel. i am holding off on all Vitamins and meds until surgery (2/20) but will continue the d3 regimen as soon as I am able.

i was told at 4 weeks they expected me to loose less then gastric bypass patients which is 25% of your excess weight. I lost that exact amount. I am to eat 3 -1 ounce meals (protein) right now with a little bit of cooked veggie (a bite) and a Protein Shake. I have been having more than that bc I have had issues getting Protein in through shakes and still met their goal. Everyone is different and I find every dr is different. I was sleeved 1/16. Have you been walking?

I really hadn't thought about dangers of it. I didn't realize it was fat soluble and is stored. I've been taking high doses for about 2 weeks now (6,000 IU). Not sure if that qualifies for "high." As it did with you, it made an enormous difference in how I felt. I couldn't believe it. It did take about a week to feel the effects. And it took about a week before weight started dropping again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
