Yes at times even with lubricant. However, I am almost 50 and had a complete hysterectomy over 6 years ago, and quit hormones 8 months ago. I am thinking about asking for the vaginal estrogen cream, I have heard amazing things from women who use it. Several said they felt like they were 18 again!

My best friend started the vaginal estrogen cream about 6 months ago. Her Dr started her on it when she started to have some slight issues with bladder prolapse. She had an emergency hysterectomy with the birth of her last child 12 years ago.

It has made an amazing difference for her, not only with the bladder prolapse, but with lubrication AND sex drive. She swears by it and says she'll never, ever do without it.

I am a big fan of dr. Drew Pinsky. I grew up listening to loveline on the radio and now I watch all of his rehab shows. Anyhow, he had a guest named Dr. Andrew Goldstein who is some sort of vaginal/hormonal specialist. Recently they were talking on dr. Drew's podcast about the side effects of birth control pills. Dr. Goldstein said most of the newer pills from the last 15-20 years are horrible for women. The gist was that women need testosterone for their sex drive and comfort and basically the bc pills suppress women's testosterone receptors in and around the vagina. This leads to low sex drive, vulva pain, cervical pain, abdominal pain, thin skin down below... Basically misery that many man of us experience. Oh and the bad bc pill's effects can last for years after you discontinue them. The solution was to quit taking bc pills if possible and also use an estrogen AND testosterone cream. If you must take bc then take one from about 25-30 years ago. Avoid new bcs like yazmin. There is apparently an international society for sexual health of women that has affiliated gynos who know more about these issues than your typical ob-gyn. I will get the name of some of the bcs that do not have these bad effects.

Hope this made some sense. If you want to hear what dr. Goldstein says download the Adam carolla app for your phone and click the dr. Drew show. There you can find the podcasts featuring dr. Goldstein. Very, very interesting stuff.

Sorry this is so badly written. Laying in my sick 4 year old's bed until she conks out :P

That's what I keep hearing from everyone who uses it! We have always loved Astroglide, but since the sleeve, it's like I'm a sponge and need more and more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
