I am getting very frustrated with pant sizes. I'm down 83 pounds. I am currently 174 and 5'5". I so want to be in size 12 jeans. What is frustrating is there are some 14s I can't wear yet! I am only 20 pounds from my lightest weight and was able to get into 1 pair of size 8 shorts then. Is there any hope for being a size 10 again? I've had two children, did they wreck that much havoc on my body?

I'm down 57lbs. In the last few weeks I have worn every size from a 12-18. I have wide hips and a more narrow waist. I couldn't get on a pair of 16w seven jeans, but I was able to get a pair of regular 16's on no problem- two pairs actually- they just gapped in the waist :). It all depends on brand and cut more importantly. I'm 4'11 and 191 for comparison- and I've had two kiddos also :). I think they really did me in- my pooch isn't budging (I can blame kid 2 for that one- it was all the boys fault). Maybe one day!

Jeans are crazy! Sized so funny! I am 165 in a 12. But some 10s fit and some 14s are tight. It all depends on the Co. And cut.

Go to Old Navy if you just want to be in a 12, they are sized a little bigger so there 12s are probably a 14.

Just remember it's not you. its the clothing sizing, don't let it get to you, make you feel bad or take away from what you've accomplished. You have done amazingly well!

I did just that yesterday. One pair of size 12s didn't fit for nothing but then got into a size 10 skinny jeans. Then went to New York and Company and bought 12s so definitely feel better about the clothing situation.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
