cartmansnj 105 Posted February 14, 2013 How do you tell the difference between not being able to tolerate a food VS eating too fast/too much??
notime 340 Posted February 14, 2013 Try a little bit of it, eat slowly and see what happens. In other words, if you control for eating too fast and eating too much, any reaction is due to intolerance.
cartmansnj 105 Posted February 15, 2013 I was really looking for people to tell me what they experience with a food that they cannot tolerate. Vomiting? The runs? What?
notime 340 Posted February 15, 2013 Okay. I can't help you with that.
LindaS 316 Posted February 15, 2013 If I eat too fast or too much, I get a pain in my belly/stomach/chest area. I haven't had any vomiting at all since my surgery. I have had some bathroom runs, but it isn't any more often than before surgery.
SeriouslyChange 319 Posted February 15, 2013 You start spitting it back up. I have issues with that to this day lol. If you're not paying attention and swallow big chunks of food, you'll have them come back up your throat. Not in a throw up way, just in a spit up way? Hard to explain. How I know I can't tolerate foods: I feel like **** about 10 minutes afterwards. I feel out of it, kind of like being high. Not a good feeling. Then again, it doesn't happen with many foods for me.
