I dont eat carbs yet so that cant be it. I usually eat around 500-700 calories a day. Mostly Protein with some friuts and veggies. Only drink Water and plenty of it. Exercising daily also. I just dont get it. I have always been a slow loser but man I was hoping this surgery would help more.. Idk. Very depressing and discouraging tho..

I would try more calories. 7 months out your body is probably wanting more food. Especially if you are working out daily. Just remember meat, veg, starch. Good luck.

My NUT says hit 75gm protien and 64oz fluids a day. Eat Protein first and then veggies. Then if there is room fruit. Then, very rarely starchy carbs. Then be sure you're getting at minimum 30 minutes of exercise a day, if not ideally an hour. I asked her about long plateaus and she said that in her experience they are often caused by you eating or exercising in almost exactly the same way for an extended period of time. That your body just adjusts and the scale, or your inches, don't move. She said that you need to mix it up, all the time while sticking almost religiously to the hitting 75gm Protein and 64oz fluids.

So, though I haven't gotten there yet myself I wanted to share since I had just talked with my NUT about the topic. Good luck and I hope the scale starts moving for you!

7 months and no carbs?

Time to start eating a normal balanced diet... Your body is probably in shock without carbs for so long

At 7 months out you can eat a well balanced diet and with the restriction you will lose weight.

Like what LessIsMore is saying, it doesn't sound like you have a very balanced diet. What does MFP say you are getting each day (on average) for Proteins, carbs and fats?

I can't imagine you are able to do rigorous workouts for very long without a decent amount of carbs. At least, that was my experience.

I've been stalling for the past few weeks, this week I upped my carbs, and the scale finally moved 3 pounds. So maybe try what PDXMAN and lessofmeismore are saying. Complex/healthy carbs can be beneficial!

I am having the same problem. I started using myfitnesspal about a week ago and am tracking everything. I put in 1000 calories. I don't know if thats too much or too little. When I go to the gym and burn 430 calories, of course it adds more calories for me to burn. What is the happy medium??? I cant find it. I've lost some inches and have gone down a few sizes, but the weight isn't going. At first I thought it was because I wasn't exercising much so I joined a gym about 3 weeks ago and I lost 4 pounds, now Im stuck again. I am not getting 75 grams of Protein though, my doc said 50. I know at times its hard to get all my fluids in too but I've been trying harder lately to make sure I get more. I agree with everyone that its very discouraging. I feel like I went to extreme measures doing this surgery and knew I was going to have this battle again of losing, I just didn't expect it this soon.

HOw far out are you? I think most people are way under 1000 calories. Have you talked to your nut about what your caloric intake should be? My nut, for example, has everyone at our clinic on around 80 grams of Protein, 60 max grams of carbs (no more than 20 at a meal and no carryover to the next meal) and max 30 grams of fats. That comes out to around 800 calories a day. I'd really get a second opinion about your protein amount, fifty seems too low. Some docs will go 60, but I've never heard of 50. Get your Water in! Your body needs it to burn fat. With myfitnesspal, I personally don't use the calories burned through exercise as an excuse to eat more. I track the exercise, but I don't eat more to get back to a certain amount. Remember, it's just software. Talk to your doc and nut. Good luck!

My doctor's PA said not to "eat back" calories burned through exercise. I asked this specifically because of MFP.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
