I had my surgery in Miami' date=' Florida. My surgery was done in a Hospital. It is not unheard of to be able to find prices as low as the 3,000's, but you have to be cautious. It is most likey so cheap because those doctors will do the surgery in their own "surgical center" to cut the costs of the hospital. I felt much safer being in a hospital "just in case". To save a few grand when your life is as stake didn't make sense to me. But a girl I know did have a 3,000 dollar miami Tummy Tuck and is happy with it. Not for me though.[/quote']

I'm in Miami too, who was your plastic surgeon? Did you get the sleeve here as well?

Mark Broudo was my plastic surgeon - Awesome results and very caring doctor. I did not get my sleeve done here.

The results look very good in your post 69 day video. Did the surgeon tell you how long it would take for full sensitivity to return and for the scar to "disappear?" Also, does this impact your ability to perform functionally? I can imagine that if your upper thighs are still desensitized, then your night life would also be impacted. When did the surgeon say that you would be fully recovered and be able to turn on the heat during cardio and lifting?

Havent had a followup with my surgeon recently to ask him since hes located so far away from me. I do know the sensitivity thing is not a guarantee. I know someone who is 6 years post op and still dont have all the sensation back. Im crossing my fingers I will not have the same issue. If you mean sex by functionally I couldn't tell you because Im not in a relationship right now, but everything "works" fine. Upper thighs have most sensation back which is good. I dont feel up to lifting weights but I would feel ok doing cardio. Im only going on walks for now. I do still feel the need to wear my binder during the day time. I still get a little swollen if I don't and it is just so darn uncomfortable without it. It feels so tight and weird without it. Hope you got the answers you were looking for.

You're TT looks fabulous! I have been wearing the silicone strips in hopes that my TT scar will heal nicely. I have been using the expensive silicone strip shaped specifically for a TT scar from Oleeva yet I still had to cut it to fit my scar shape. I had enough to cover my scar with about 4-5 inches leftover. I doubt if one silicone shape will be enough to cover your scar from end to end. I would recommend NOT buying the TT shaped silicone and just buying the straight one since you will have to cut it too to fit your specific TT shape. I'm not sure but I think the straight pieces are a little cheaper. The bad thing is that the silicone wears off and you have to replace it approximately 6-8 weeks I believe. My silicone strip has turned up around the entire edge and doesn't stay to my skin anymore and I only wore it for 3 weeks. I will be trying a different brand on my next purchase.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
