Sassygirl06 962 Posted February 13, 2013 It's how the doctor measures how big around or girth your stomach will be. All doctors usually have their own size they prefer to do.

delta_girl 931 Posted February 13, 2013 It's how the doctor measures how big around or girth your stomach will be. All doctors usually have their own size they prefer to do. Actually, my surgeon does not support this definition. It allows the surgeon to have a point of reference and to see inside of the stomach. They can stitch very close, or loosely from the bougie. The actual difference in the size of the pouch is negligible. More significant would be the size and shape of our stomachs in the first place. Our anatomy has variety and not all of our stomachs are the same dimensions.
