LauraD 8 Posted February 13, 2013 The first few days at home were you mostly in bed? Up sitting on the couch? Did you get up and do things?

JessicaAnn 564 Posted February 13, 2013 I'm hoping I'll be able to move around a lot. I have two young kids an my husband works long hours. He can't take off more then 2 days! So I'm nervous.

Takingcontrol 467 Posted February 13, 2013 I could do what I wanted...up & go to the store, etc. But I did get tired easily!
Geminidrive 389 Posted February 13, 2013 I was only in bed when I came home the next day because I was tired. You don't rest while you are in the hospital, because every hour (I'm probably exaggerating) the nurses are taking your vitals. I think you will be up and around fairly quickly. I was out and about by Friday.
lsereno 2,525 Posted February 13, 2013 I stayed in bed the first couple of days, getting up to walk every hour. But I didn't have kids at home. Can you get some help with the kids? Trade babysitting or playdates with neighbors maybe? And stock up on activities for them, such as new games, books, and movies and special easy-to-prepare treat foods and drinks. I'm not sure how young they are, but you will have lifting restrictions post-op too. Set up the house so you don't have to lift them to change diapers, get them dressed, etc. Lynda
