ginger 0 Posted November 14, 2006 I was wondering if anyone has ever had their band slip or their port flip from excessive coughing? I had bronchitis for about a month and finally got over it, now I have the flu. I have been coughing alot and yesterday I noticed that I have slight port pain and I can feel my port, where I couldn't before. Probably just being paranoid, but still curious. barbara465 2 Posted November 14, 2006 You will get port pain from time to time without being sick. You will also feel your port, especially after scar tissue starts to form. I don't have personal experience with coughing and band slippage. I would think this is highly unlikely, but don't know for sure. Your band doctor is your best source of information for this. Maybe getting you a cough suppresant would be a good thing. Feel better soon.
susantunanoodle 0 Posted November 18, 2006 Another question along the same lines---can the hiccups cause a slippage? Anyone know? Susan surgery date 1/8/07 in TJ with Dr. Ortiz
ItsGottaGo! 0 Posted November 19, 2006 I've had bronchitis too for the past 3 weeks! I think it is finally going away, but I was afraid I was going to slip my band too, I was coughing so much and violently. I feel like the coughing has made my port pop out, as I can feel it so much more since.
