newmein2013 1 Posted February 13, 2013 So I've been on this journey since October. My surgeon submitted my paperwork on Jan 24, the requested additional info on 25th. The surgeon submitted the info on Feb 6. Insurance requested additional info again! They aren't satisfied with exercise notes. Insurance wants me to go to PT. My PCP says I don't need it, it's a waste of time in my case. I have Blue Cross *** of IL. I don't really do much exercise. I do take the stairs and have noticed my knees don't hurt as much since I've lost a few Lbs. Has anyone else had to meet this requirement? My surgery date WAS going to be March 6, if approved. Does anyone know how long it should take to satisfy this requirement?
UPRR Wifey 89 Posted February 13, 2013 Not sure but you should do what the insurance requires because they will give the final ok in the end. They just may want a simple evaluation. Good luck.
Sadtosaygoodbye 256 Posted February 13, 2013 I have to agree with UPRR wifey on tis one. Whatever the requirements are for you to have the procedure, just do it. Try not to compare what you have to do to meet these compared to someone else. This will be just a bleep in time, soon enough you will be so happy and singing to the world how you are "Approved for surgery". I learned early on to tune out the "Noise" from everyone else and focus on my process, and what I have to do to get this done. Stay strong because your efforts will be well worth it soon enough.
