1. Will I ever be able to drink ice Water again? When I drink it down it irritates me =/

2. I don't feel hungry... That's not the problem lol the problem is I don't feel like I'm eating enough... Anyone else feel like this? Will I ever eat like a normal person?

It gets better as time goes on. I am9 weeks post op and can eat 800 to 900 calories per my nutritionist advise. I can drink any thing hot or very cold.

You will eat normally again. I can eat anything at this point (surg. Dec. 7) and the main focus now is listening to my body to know when I have had enough. Your focus will change a lot. Just make sure you keep drinking Water, even if it is room temp.

Hi miss Tiffany I feel the same way. Loved Water now I get weird pains. Doc said can last 1-3 months. :(. I am only on week 4. It has improved but not where I would like.

food. My relationship with food has changed. Never thought I would say that. I am in Florida visiting sister. I was a cheap 2 dollar date at Mexican rest. I got a chicken taco. No shell. I watched family gorge on what I used too. Felt a little jealous. Them after about 5 bites no longer .... I love cooking and baking. Big adjustments.

We will be fine.

mmmm yeah I came out of surgery with the only thing taking away my thirst was ice Water or ice. I never had that problem. I'm sorry I'm of no help.

I hear you on the calorie deficit. Some days I only get like 200 calories...I'm 12 days post op.

I'm 3 weeks out and I can have ice Water now, I'm guessing that will get easier for you. I know what you mean about not feeling like eating. I find myself forgetting to eat and having to force something down. I'm sure things will get better though. Patience patience

I have been drinking ice Water since the day after surgery with no issues. I love water so that was a sigh of relief for me. I am 15 days post op and I too feel I am just not getting in enough of anything except my water. I have good days and bad days. I have read it will get better!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
