Anyone familiar with Hu Hot?

Recommended Posts

There's a new Mongolian grill in town called Hu Hot. Anyone familiar with it? I glanced at their menu online and it seems ok. I was just wondering if anyone had been there. If so, what ingredients do you choose?

I don't even consider eating out. For no other reason than I have a hard time just sitting with nothing to do while others want to eat and drink without someone already to go. Now, if I could contain myself with wine I'd be a happy camper!

Love it!!! I haven't eaten there since I got my sleeve, but I am only 2 weeks out. It is really good stuff and there are plenty of healthy options. You can go very low carb, by excluding the noodles from your bowl. :) You of course won't get what you pay for, because you can't eat enough. Ha ha.

I would find it challenging to eat at a Mongolian grill because of the noodles. I would think you would want enough solid food experience behind you before attempting sans noodle. The reason is because if you do not use noodles then you are going to need to substitute veggies. And veggies are challenging to eat until quite a few months out, at least that is the way it was for me. I would stick to Orkney, chicken and seafood and skip the beef. Beef is hard to eat unless you have experience with it for a while. It was 6 months before I could eat beef comfortable. Now the other thing to consider is quantity as you are going to be able to only eat 3-4 ounces where normally one would fill up 1-2 bowls for a heaping plate some Mongolian food places make you eat everything in the dining area. If this is the case, it wouldn't be cost effective at all in my opinion. You should be able to add veggies into the mix if you are comfortable with eating them. Be sure to load up on the Protein though because you want to eat that before the veggies. Be very conservative with the sauces you use because most of them are high calorie, except perhaps garlic Water or sauces like that. Good luck!

Actually at Hu Hot it isn't challenging at all. You decide what you want, and the amount you want. Just use more meat and veggies. I went there a few times eating low carb, and you just skip the noodles! Once upon a time, I even knew what sauces were the healthiest and lowest in carbs, but I have forgotten. I vaguely remember that their teriyaki was low carb.

Thanks for the input y'all! I think I'm gonna give it a try. My NUT is ok with carbs and calories as long as I stay under 20 grams of fat per day and get my necessary Protein. The awesome thing about their online menu is that you can build a bowl of the ingredients you want and it gives you the nutrition info. The one I built was14 grams of protein, 4 grams of fat, 11 carbs, 194 calories, and 4 grams of sugar...and that's including noodles. Not too shabby I guess.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
