Average calorie intake

Recommended Posts

Im roughly six weeks out and averaging 1000 cals a day - not all of it is lean Protein (otherwise id still be in the 700s...

When i upped my cals 4-5 days ago it broke my stall but now ive stopped again... The weight loss has just been so obscenely slow lately..

So what are your average cals? How far out are you?

Thanks!

I will be 5 weeks post op on thursday and my average is in the low 600's. I think i have hit 700 1 time since i have been sleeved. My Fluid intake is pretty low too, around 35 ounces or so. My weight loss has been slow and i was stalled for almost 2 weeks but i am back to losing and i am down 19 lbs post surgery with a total of 44 lbs since my journey began almost a year ago.

For me -- 600-800 calories a day. On the low end when I don't exercise, higher when I do. 80-90 g of Protein a day, 100 oz or so of water; tea, etc.

I was sleeved on 10/22 and I'd say on average I'm taking in close to 700, usually a little lower. It's been higher than usual the past few weeks because I had a bout with norovirus and my stomach couldn't handle hard Protein like normal, so I have had a more carb heavy diet.

I am averaging about 1200 each day. I see on here where people are only taking in 600 - 700 and I am worried that I am eating too much. I was never given a total I should stick to, simply told to eat Protein first and not to worry too much about the rest. Very frustrating.

I wasn't given a caloric total either. I was told 70g of Protein, less than 100g of carbs, and 64 oz of Water. Those are my dietary guidelines. My diet is pretty much: Breakfast shake, cottage cheese snack, some meat for lunch, maybe part of a Protein Bar or some almonds, meat for dinner, and usually some NSA tapioca or cheese. I'll have some veggies some days, but mostly I don't eat once I've gotten in all my required stuff because I'm just not hungry. It's just me, so I don't generally cook because the food would go bad by the time I got around to eating it.

At six weeks 500-600 calories. I am now 22 weeks and probably float between 600-800 calories. I find that too much I don't lose. I know that many on here eat more calories but you want to make the most of your first 6 months as you will lose the most during this time.

during weight loss I ate 1200 minimum a day as soon as I could (maybe around 3 months) and then 1400-1500 around 6 months. Maintaining at 1800-2000 for about a year! I for one probably ate 3000- 4000 per day pre-sleeve. I didn't want to tank my metabolism. I think the chance for regain goes up if you eat 600 cals per day for a year, its so easy to eat a little more and gain weight off of 1000 cals (my friend had gastric bypass and this happened to her) she regained 75 pounds eating 1000 cals a day! Everyone is different-- this is what has worked for me.

5 weeks out and I go between 600 to 1100 calories. Nutritionist told me yesterday to try to get in 90g of Protein but gave no other targets except the Water one. I too am scared to eat too much which may seem crazy at 1100 cals but keep hearing the whole first 6 months you lose the most and I just want to get it right

I'm 8 weeks out, and average 700-800 calories daily. I feel OK at this many calories, but not great. I was thinking about increasing a little, but I would have to eat more often or higher calorie food to do it, and havent gotten around to it. Haha, that's so funny -before surgery eating more was all I could get around to!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
