josh d 0 Posted February 12, 2013 Ok my Dr just went over the hole sipping ordeal. I'm scheduled for Monday the 18th. How long after surgery until you can't stop sipping and start taking small drinks ?
johnlatte 1,232 Posted February 12, 2013 Its going to vary. I'm 3 months out and still sip. Others here guzzle early on without problems. What did your Dr. tell you when you were discussing it?
Geminidrive 389 Posted February 12, 2013 I still sip, I'm 4 months out.
MuttLover 15 Posted February 12, 2013 I could take regular sized sips immediately after surgery, and in fact gulped down the disgusting stuff for the the swallow test easily. I could then take progressively larger sips. It's very individual.
PdxMan 4,292 Posted February 12, 2013 It is very individual. Just do what feels right. Your body will tell you what it can and can't do.
SeriouslyChange 319 Posted February 12, 2013 I can take about 1oz gulps. But I don't think I'll be able to chug a whole bottle of Water or anything like that. I can do about 2-3 gulps and wait a minute or two, and another 2-3 gulps. It's easier to sip
