Hi everyone. This is my first post. I would like to encourage everyone to continue with your exercise as hard as you can. As u lose your body will move so much better. Please go slow and listen to your body but push yourself to do some things You will be so surprised when u see that u can!!

Well said! Thanks for the motivation. I also am a strong believer in realizing your body is truly capable of great things. It is your mind that acts as a speed bump when not properly aligned with goals. It is also the attachment of emotion to those goals that will elevate your achievements. All things are possible.

Only 1 more week? Awesome! What are your plans when you finish?

I think I'll keep running or wogging as I like to call it... I'm looking for a 5k, probably won't find one in Denver anytime soon, but I work for an airline, so I'm considering flying somewhere participate in one. I'm having my panniculectomy and hernia repair on Nov 5, so that will slow me down for a bit. But I will have finished C w25k by then. Yay!

I'm 4 weeks post TT surgery in a couple days. So that means I'm 4 weeks away from my return to running. Shooting for a 5k December 22. It's a santa trot where everyone dresses up like santa. Should be a hoot.

Butter I wish I was recovering so quickly. I will try running again this week. Butt just still hurts.

Yeah....I've heard that lower body lift makes things alot more difficult. Don't hurt yourself. Eventually things will heal.

The 5K I ran today was amazing. The weather was beautiful and the race seemed to go downhill the whole way. I set a PR of 35:30. My former PR for a race was 38:45. The first 5K I ever ran was 45:00. Next race is a 10K in November. Hoping to run it in less than 1hr15min.

Treadmill running is not really my friend, but this is WY and outdoor running will be a thing of the past all too soon.

So, I tried it today. Ran 42 minutes straight!

Ran 51.08 minutes (with a 5 minute warm-up and another 5 minute cool down). 3.19 miles and 156 floors climbed.

This is the longest time running ever! I never slowed down? Until cool down. (kind of disappointed I couldn't go that next .28 to reach the 5k at a run, but tomorrow is another day).

I started at 3.8mph, advanced to 4.0, then 4.2 and kept it steady there. Started at 1.5% incline, backed it off at 37 minutes to 1.0, then .5, then 0 for the last minute of the run.

It's all a mind game, and it has always beaten me, but dang it, the time is coming when I will be winning!!! lol!

Sorry for the long post, I'm just really excited!

I just completed week 5 day 3. I can't believe I just ran for 20 minutes straight. I was slow as molasses but I still can't stop smiling.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
