Completed w1d2...man I'm really struggling. I feel so unfit!

All of us on this thread were in your shoes not long ago! It's amazing how you can progress if you just stick with it. All of us have had to repeat days or weeks. All of us have had bad running days where we couldn't go any further. Just like with losing weight, the key to C25K is persistence. I've gone from struggling to finish one minute of running to not wanting to stop after running for 45 minutes. I've also lost 78 pounds during that time period.

Thanks deedadumble. I'm hoping it does.

It was a big step up in my exercise regime to incorporate it and was scary. But I kinda feel proud too to know that I have accomplished 2 days thus far. I've always wanted to run but have been held back through either lack of confidence at the gym or just the "too hard" basket. Now that I've started it I do feel there is no turning back now!

We have all been there, I remember thinking I would never advance, but I did. This program knows how to teach you, and all these people know how to help and coach you along the way. With good form and persistence you will do it. Redo days or weeks if you need to, we all have! Just so you stick with it. You can do it!

My knees are too bad to run. Does anyone know if there is a similar program for biking? Couch to 100 mile ride or something?

I'm in Tucson Tucson at a hotel for a family wedding, I ran w5d1 yesterday, but I had access to a treadmill. It is a real nice one and it had a 5k program, so I thought I would try it and see if this training is paying off. I finished it in just under 41 minutes, I actually ran for over fifteen minutes at 5.2. I run slower, then I can run longer. I was so excited, I probably could have ran longer but my shoe came untied, I had to stop to tie it then ran for a bit more. I'm so excited, it works, for those of you that are just starting keep it up for those of you that are veterans and kept encouraging me you were right, and Thank You!

Oh wow....the first night I did W1D1 I thought it was like being waterboarded. I never wanted to do it again and it took 2 weeks before I got up the nerve to go back. It was probably 2 more weeks of consistently doing it before I started to notice that I was slowly breathing just a bit easier....running a little easier....getting better. You will too...very soon. Keep at it.

Finished w5d1 yesterday and took a peek ahead and see each day coming up is different. This is kinda of terrifying since I'm used to a week to get increases under my belt but also exciting!

Just finished w5d2, I was a bit nervous for week five until yesterday I ran over 15 minutes without realizing it. I actually incorporated today into a 5k so after I was done I just kept jogging the rest... Bring it day 3!

I answer to anything. My own wife sometimes calls me beanhole. Not sure it's a compliment. :/

TOO funny! Don't ask her, you don't want to know the answer to that one

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
