deedadumble 1,033 Posted August 9, 2013 I have a question for all of you seasoned runners. I have been reading on a Facebook page everyone talking about KT tape. What is it? Newbie here. Lol KT stands for kinesiology tape. It comes in strips with paper backing. Each strip can be split down the middle. It is used to provide support to joints and muscles. In my opinion, you can make an injury worse if you apply it incorrectly, so the first time you use it get it applied by a trained therapist or doctor. I have use it on my knee for chondromalacia, but it doesn't seem to help.

Fiddleman 4,376 Posted August 9, 2013 KT tape is actually quite useful. I have not used it myself yet, but see people using it all the time in my cross fit box. The way it works is to pull the skin away from the skeletal muscle in order to allow the flow of blood to the region under that tape. It essentially creates a bruise. More blood circulation to the region means faster healing. It also can only bend one way with regards to the construction of fibers in the tape, allowing for the application of a superior brace to an injured region. http://www.kttape.com/

Wls4me 163 Posted August 10, 2013 W3 D2 done. Took a peak at week 4 - looks a little scary. 1 *Dean* reacted to this
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted August 10, 2013 Yeah week 3 to 4 is a big jump. But you're going to surprise yourself. Remember, you can't make gains if you aren't pushing past your limits a little bit. In running, as in life, you've got to be a little uncomfortable to grow. 4 mistysj, *Dean*, Fiddleman and 1 other reacted to this
mistysj 1,940 Posted August 12, 2013 Week 4 day 1 done. Whew! I had to dial the running back to 8 kph. The first round of running was the hardest. Just gotta get started. 1 *Dean* reacted to this

LisaT678 225 Posted August 12, 2013 Ran my 25 min today with 5 min warm up & cool down. Each week I'm increasing my speed a click. I've also started the C210K program. Still struggling with the running outside issues but each week it seems I'm arguing less & less with myself so I think I'm making progress there as well. 3 Butterthebean, Huntingnurse and *Dean* reacted to this
LisaT678 225 Posted August 14, 2013 C210K W2D2 at 4.2. Moving along. Really quiet here this week. I'm really in a slump. I feel like I'm moving forward with my running but my weight loss has stalled AGAIN. I got over the 6 mo stall and here I am at 8 mos stalling again. Do you think it's time to go back to only shakes for a couple of weeks?
Huntingnurse 510 Posted August 14, 2013 Ill be hitting C25K W2D2 tonight. The change from W1 to W2 wasnt too bad but i was pretty exhausted by the end of W2D1. 1 LisaT678 reacted to this
mistysj 1,940 Posted August 14, 2013 I run at the gym near my work and two days off in a row plus a really busy day before that means that I am behind and will need to bring my gym stuff home and do w4d3 outside on Saturday. I'm a bit nervous about that!
