I had a REALLY bad running night. Couldn't finish hardly any of my runs, ran into and tried to avoid these two b*****s that were walking TWOCE. They made fun of me and I flipped them off. So mature right? Very unlike me, but I was in a really weir headspace. I do NOT understand chi running when put into motion. In theory, yes. I forget everything when I'm in the real world. I hope no one sent any books or DVDs yet because I'm really thinking about putting a pin in this one for a while, for my sanity. I. Just. Don't. Get. It.

Ugh I sound like such an annoying crybaby. (I almost did cry tonight)

I'd rather bike. That requires little to no thought. Or gym. Same. Why does this have to be so hard? I'm totally feeling sorry for myself. I think I'll stick to things I'm good at.

Fiddle, ill pm you.

Well, Amy running wasnt really working either, that's why I decided to try this chi thing.

I don't know what was up tonight. Is it because I already walked 4 miles today and did a workout DVD? I was excited and ready and thought I was gonna slay it, but I sucked really bad. And the worst part is that I've already done this. Week 2 day 2 is the same as w2d1. Wtf?

Dood, cadence whaa? I can't make my feet move that fast and still go slow. I turned my metronome on and no.

Sigh. My ankles are still too fat for roller blading.

When I first started doing it, I felt like I had to take baby steps to go slow enough while keeping my pace up high enough. It took a couple of months to even start feeling comfortable. It did not happen over night. Truth be told there is never a point when you're there, but you do get better and better as time goes on.

You walked 4 miles, did a workout DVD, AND did C25K??? That's crazy! No way I could do all that now and I'm on week 1 of bridge to 10K. I can't even run every day. I have to have a day off between runs. At this stage of C25K you need to be taking it slow and easy. Build up your time first by running at a pace that is slow enough that you can make it through the running intervals. Worry about speed later. Also, don't worry about Chi running at this point (ducking vibrams being thrown from the Chi lovers). Just do what feels natural to you. If you over-think it, you're going to burn out.

What pace are you running at? I am a super slow runner and am doing good if I'm below a 14min mile.

I'm glad you weren't totally put off by My pity party. I needed to vent/cry to someone and hubby is asleep. Y'all got to see a little bit of my ugly side.

Did y'all ever have days where you just couldn't do it and felt like a turd? I couldn't believe I couldn't finish the run intervals! That didn't even happen on day one! It's because of that cadence thing tho.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. So many feelings. Maybe I'm just having a weird night. I'm kinda ticked that it seems like other chubby runners can do this just fine and I'm too stoopit to run right. Lol

Yeah. I wasn't sure if I was gonna get around to c25k tonight so the kids and I walked to the park for exercise after I'd gotten up early to do a short DVD.

I'm not sure where to draw the line as far as how much exercise is too much etc. I do think its possible my body (and mind) was just too tired tonight.

As far as trying chi running, it's mostly for my knee. And I STILL messed it up tonight, so.

Pout

It's interesting to me how I just can't let this go! I can't believe how bad I want to be a runner. Today I'm feeling like I need to keep trying and quit whining.

I think I am still pushing myself too hard. Or was. Ill probably do this again tomorrow night. I shouldn't have posted right after a bad run.

I read that everyone has bad runs. That made me feel a lot better. And my knees don't hurt nearly as bad today as they did last Friday, so I must be getting better.

Continue with your regularly scheduled program. :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
