hadouni 301 Posted March 16, 2013 Got outside and ran today. I used mapmyrun and found a great 5k route to work on but my run was pretty weak. I'm sure I got in 25+ minutes of running, but not all at once. I took a couple of nice walk breaks but at least I got my fanny out there, right? I really need to find sources of potassium. I had three bags put in my post-op and I never get close to what myfitnesspal indicated I need of a daily basis. I just blended a banana into my Protein Shake for lunch and should try to get a coconut Water in me daily, but what else? I can't stomach V8.

I have a green smoothie every other day, so I get a good hit out the green leaves. Snacking on dried apricots is a good source. Avocados good. Every few days I dry roast some sweet potato and I have it with lots of stuff. Throw it in salads. Have it with a tin of tuna or salmon. All little potassium bombs! LisaT678 225 Posted March 17, 2013 I am in the hospital with pancreatitis as of yesterday afternoon. Hoping I get over this quickly. I might have to have gallbladder surgery. That will put a huge damper on my running program. :-(
rachel1217 4 Posted March 18, 2013 Installed the app and just got back from the first session. Anyone else interested? Deano ok dean... youve inspired me! just bought and downloaded the app to my phone. I am still pre-op but can exercise some - I am 5'6" and 230#(ish). We will see how it goes. carstanger 346 Posted March 18, 2013 Tomorrow I have to run 1 minute one and 1 minute walking for 20 minutes for my first day. My nut has tweaked the couch to 5 K. I walked today on my treadmill for 20 minutes at 2.8 at 2.0 incline without my knee hurting, (Knee replacement almost 2 years ago) and my asthma not kicking in!!! I haven't run since I chased my grandkids when they were little and the youngest will be 9 at the end of the month and the oldest is 15. LOL!

Butterthebean 8,146 Posted March 18, 2013 Went to a running clinic this weekend and I did a little write up about it. See the thread entitled "chi-running workshop".
mark! 449 Posted March 18, 2013 Ok all, I'm 3 weeks on Tuesday. I've started jogging a bit, lightly on a treadmill to keep impact to a minimum and have felt great. I could also use an elliptical I suppose, but don't feel like I get as good a workout. At 4 weeks, I was told I can bike, and jog as tolerated, and the hospital said I can start jogging when there isn't any pain. Here's my thought. I can start c25k Tuesday, and repeat week 1 on the following week and start very slowly. I'm getting bored with walking, and I've started jogging at 4.0 speed with no issues for the past 2 days. When did ya'll start picking up the pace on cardio?
