That made me think of the Johnny Knoxville show from MTV!

My treadmill is in a corner too though and I'd never really thought about it.

I did W6D2 tonight. Run 10, walk 3, run 10. I made it. The next day is run 22 minutes and I'm not looking forward to that one bit!

My elliptical is a proform 14.0 ce

I just got it because it would hold my weight back in the day that was a serious issue

I'm going to do the same thing in May with the nut and a group of other post surgery people. We're starting the middle of March but I've actually done Water aerobics 2 days in a row!! I don't know if I can run but they said I can walk it if I can't run it. Knee replacement 2 years ago April.

Good luck! I hope your knee lets you run it, but either way you'll be proud when you cross that finish line!

Thanks to Butter and this thread, I started c25k yesterday, on a treadmill, started out running the whole time, then about hallway through could only run about half the time (while swearing loudly at the little voice telling me to run) I have always been that person saying that if you saw me running call the cops, someone is chasing me. I am determined to try this out for a bit, who knows underneath all that fat, might be a girl who actually likes to run...

Agghhhh.... I feel like a beast. Just finished day 1 week 4, it's starting to get a little rough. I'm going to repeat the same day tomorrow. Keep your heads up and keep on running...

I had my first C25K last night. So day 1 week 1. When I was leaving the house to go, my husband said he looks forward to cheering me on at a 5K race. Sweet.

It went ok, better than I had thought it would. Of course, I'm the oldest in the group - and 4 of the 9 folks are runners who wanted to get back into running - no pressure. I am doing this as my personal journey - just like the journey of the sleeve.

Driving home after class I felt tired (we also did 30 minutes of strength training) but empowered. The body might be reaching 60 but the drive/determination/commitment/??aspirations are all much much younger.

I think there is just one other WLS post op in the class, the rest are hospital employees.

W3D3 done. I have to say that I am terrified for week 4 BUT I am pressing on! Just think how proud of myself I will be when I complete week 4. Everyone have a blessed day.

So today will be a "run 22 minutes" day... I might push it off to tomorrow when my mom has my son.

I think I might stick to the treadmill this time to see the difference. Last Saturday was a "run 20 minutes" day and I tried running outside for the first time. I'd like to know if I'd do any better on the treadmill for the extended time or if running that long is just hard either way!

They say running outside is the equivalent of running on the treadmill with the incline set on 2. But depending in where you run, running outside can be much easier thanks to scenery. It can also be harder if the weather conditions are not optimal. Either way it's exercise so do what you feel best doing. But if you're hope is to run a real 5K event, they are all outside, do at some point you have to embrace that. Plus, as you get better and can run longer, you'll want to be outside running along enjoying the scenery and outdoors. Who wants to run 2 hours on a treadmill?

You can catch up on the walking dead and duck dynasty while running on the treadmill or in my case the elliptical :P
