I had an attempt a few weeks ago. It was too soon and I got light headed. So I stuck to walking the dog. Today felt good though.

When are you booked in?

26th. Starting my pre op diet today. Looking forward to it. They've got me set up for 4 appointments in the 2 weeks, so hopefully it'll keep me busy. And my dogs have already expressed how excited they are that all I'll be doing is walking, all 3 of them.

Good luck with the pre op. I'm sure you'll be fine. Pretty easy to be super strict for 2 weeks.

I started c25k recently and so far I'm pretty motivated with it. I've actually exercised every day since starting. Tonight will l be day 1 of week 3 for me. I've pushed a little and did an extra run cycle almost every night so far. I run on the treadmill so I run at 1.5-2% incline to try and compensate for the street vs. treadmill difference.

I'm not a runner and my favorite saying has always been "if you see me running, call the cops cause someone has a gun", so I'm surprised I'm enjoying it so far. I think it's hit some weird competitive thing in me. I'd been totally stalled in exercise and weight loss since late summer and finally decided I needed to do something to try and tighten up my belly pooch. Lets see if the running helps. Tightening up is definitely my goal with the running.

Nothing loses weight and tightens things up like running. If your running 5k 3 or 4 times a week I think you'll smash thru the stall.

I'll let you know how it goes with week 3. running 1.5 minutes ok... running 3 minutes... not so sure about that... :/ if I can tack on the extra 1.5 at the end before warming down, I'll feel accomplished for sure.

I did that program years ago, with moderate success. I'd join you on it again if I didn't just get a shiny new pair of crutches today :D

Hey mr. dom man :) ive been doing this for a few months now. I really enjoy it. if doing it on the treadmill or outside starts to hurt your feet or knees to much you can hop on the elliptical there a speed and time tracker on there and its gentle on the joints. Have FUN!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
