Texarkana Bandsters

Mizboo, I gave the trainer thing some thought too, but just don't know if I can afford it right now. I have to finish paying Wadley. Finally got my bill and made the first payment. Where is that gym? Did you check out doing that in Hope? I have heard of a couple of people that do personal training but don't know a thing about them. Is it very expensive? Hope I'm not being too nosey. I know I need to get busy exercising, just can't seem to get started.

Priss, glad to hear from you, been wondering how you are. Me? Just turtleing right along.

Sunlight, are you still hanging in there?

I noticed they haven't posted a new meeting place for Texarkana yet. Guess it will be soon.

Good morning.

I'm sorry, I should have posted about the ticker. Yes, tickerfactory is what most of us use, but there are others. (I just cant think of any names right now.) It is MUCH easier if you open two windows, so try that. Don't get discouraged when you post the first time after doing a ticker. Sometimes it takes a little while to link up the ticker. But it will show up.

I agree with Sharon. we do need a live chat room. It would be my luck that I wouldn't be able to get in one it. lol Isn't there one on this site. Maybe, we just need to set a date and time and storm the room. lol That would fix'em. Probably run everyone else out. lol

Hope everyone has a good day!

Oh, and as far as the amount of Fluid the port and tubing holds..... I have tried to find that out, but no luck yet. I even went to another site and posted. I assume everyone knows where. All those people over there want to do is stir things up and not answer REAL questions. They sure like the DRAMA!!!! I am so glad we aren't like that and more like a family. Anyway, when I find out something, I will let yall know. And yall do the same if you find out!!!

See ya!

Have any of y'all tried those body wraps they were talking about in the paper on I think Tuesday? They're supposed to help you lose weight and tighten the skin...permanetly. I always thought the wraps were temporary. I asked my sis-in-law, who is nurse, if it was possible, and she said that it was. So I'm thinking I'm going to call about it and see if the people who do it think it might help my skin on my arms, legs, and tummy to tighten up as I'm losing weight. It's already looking deflated in those places and making want to start a savings account for PS. I'm planning on waiting the 2 years to let it tighten what it can, but it does make worry a little.

I got hung and tried the papaya enzyme and helped speed everything up! I recommend it. They have it a GNC for about $7.

Welcome to all the new folks too.

Now that I think about it, there is or was a chat, but I never saw anyone in there. I guess we could open that window and watch to see if anyone enters while we post on here. I guess a lot of what we do on here is "delayed chatting." lol. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Oh Lisa, how is your fill working?

Shannon, I guess you are gearing up for back to school. Yes I have seen that advertisement in the paper. I don't take the Texar Gaz, but I saw one somewhere and read that. I would like to talk to someone who has done that for a while. I am skeptical of most of that stuff. That would be great if it really works. I always thought you had to do resistanse training for the firming and toning. I will be interested to see what you find out. Maybe you will know by meeting time. Gotta go now. Later.

I'm kinda skeptical about all that wrapping too. I get claustrophic (?). I would probably panic!!!!

Hi Susan, I know you are there!

I don't know about my fill yet. It too soon to tell. lol I guess I have some swelling. I have noticed I'm not eating as much. And I have to up my Protein some how. I bought some boost the other day. maybe that will help.

Later yall, I have a project to take care of. Just wanted to put my two cents worth in.

Lynn, school may start monday for you, but look....... YOU GET YOUR 75 LB WEIGHTLOSSS PIN!!!! That is GREAT!!!! Way to go. I'll bet those jr. high kids won't be able to keep up with you! Remember what Shannon said and give them "the mean" look when they come in Thursday. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I guess I missed it. Did you get a fill?

Shannon, will you be teaching the same grade this year?

I think I have restriction. I couldn't eat very much yesterday. Everything wanted to go down the wrong way. Had supper with some friends of ours and ate VERY slowly. It sure would have been embarrassing to get stuck and start sliming. yuck

Yall have a good day!

I'll be teaching grades 6-12 Art as far as I know. They may throw in a Career Orientation class or two with the 8th grade. Hang in there Vlynn! I hope you feel better too.

Gonna get my back to school haircut this morning. Wish me luck!

Vlynn, you guys are starting rather early aren't you? You the 6th and the kids the 9th?! Never heard of the kids starting that early. Oh well, I guess everybody has airconditioning now. Two bites of food isn't enough nutrition for a bird. Better get back to the drs. office and get that fixed quick. That is going to be hard since you are starting back to work isn't it? Can you go before the students start? I'm not eating quite as much but probably still too much. Are you trying to eat more Protein? You need to be in top condition to face all those kids. Whew! I know that's a job. I was hoping to have lost 50 lbs. by this month, (5th bandiversary). No such luck. Take care.

Good morning everyone,

I read something about the papaya enzyme. What does it help you with? I know that I'm asking a lot of ?'s. I haven't had my surgery yet (8/10), but I want to learn all I can and just have some things at home. I live in Omaha (TX, near MP) and if you know where I live, you know that it's hard to get to a store at night. Thanks for being so helpful.

Gloharmar, Lo2us was telling us about the enzyme. When you take a bite of something that doesn't pass through the stoma, (the opening that food passes through to enter your stomach) to well, we call that "getting hung up." Sometimes it is slow to pass or sometimes it just sits there, causing much discomfort. The enzyme seems to help it get on through there quicker. That is how I understand it. If that isn't it Lo2us will explain it to you better when she reads this post. The only hanfing up I have had usually passes in a few minutes. The hanging up is usually caused by taking too large of a bite, not chewing well enough, or just simply eating too fast, which we are all guilty of fro time to time. Some things are not as "band-friendly as others. Soft doughy breads, some meats, fodds that our fibrous and or stringy. I have little trouble with anything that is chewed well, at this time. As I get more fills and am more restricted, that will probably change. Some feel that earlier than others. Everyone is different in that category. All of us don't have the same size band, or recieve different amounts of saline in our band when we get a fill. Some food you have to go by trial and error. I can eat anything, some can't eat several different foods. Hope this helps you understand a little better. Whew! I got a little long winded, didn't I? Sorry. Don't hesitate to ask questions, we have all been where you are at one time. Hang in there on the liquid diet. You have just about got it licked. 5 more days and then surgery day! It is for your saftey to lose some weight now. Gives the surgeons more room to work. Be sure to take your Vitamins.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
