Hey yall.

vylnn, glad Billy is doing ok. I know what you mean bout men and the pain thing. lol poor thing, bless his heart. lol hope you told him to get up and walk or he will be in greater pain from the gas! He is doing great on his wt loss. Tell him congrads, and keep up the good work.

Sugarbear, I used straight Vitamin E on my incision sites for a while, but I'm not using anything now. I think they will fade into nothing but little white lines. And besides all that, I don't think anyone will be seeing them except for my husband and he knows what it's all about, so it's not a big deal for me.

gotta go, yall have a good day, k?

Vlynn, glad to hear Billy is doing good. We all know the disconfort will pass, but we will still send him some sympathy until it does. He has a good coach to get him on the right track, the rest is up to him. How long does he get to take off work?

Priss, I have been thinking about you. I know tomorrow is your big day! Hope you get to go early and get it over. I was the first one, and glad of it. How have you done on the liquid diet? Isn't that monotonous? At least after Friday you can change liquid flavors. I bought some sf Hersheys for hot chocolate and boy was that good! It will be a welcome change, or at least it was for me. I had that for Breakfast some days. You can also have sf Jello, and with the warm weather comming you might enjoy sf popcicles. If you like that sort of thing it is a good snack. Those things are considered liquids. If you like Tomato Soup it will be good too. I thinned my Soups mostly with milk so I could count on some of that Protein. The protein is very important. I have to admit I wasn't good with that part. I was sick of the Slimfast. There are several that found drinks at GNC that were high protein that weren't too high in calories. I didn't get a chance to do that. Anyway, good luck tomorrow. Remember to move and walk when you get home as much as possible, it will help dissapate the air they put in.

Priss, just think....this time tomorrow you will be outside walking around your block. Oh when you are reclining, a heating pad is nice too. Several advised me to use it. Mine was mostly up around my shoulders and neck. The pad felt good. Just think...you will never see that number on the scale that you saw 2 weeks ago when you started your pre-op. I am hoping when I go back to PS my weight loss will be good enough for me to want to change my ticker. That will be May 21. I better slow down on my eating. Can't wait to get my next fill so I might get down to bussiness with the weight loss. Good luck tomorrow, you are in my prayers. You can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick update...Billy is doing good...Has only one spot that is tender, other than that, NO pain...not even any gas...I keep telling him I am going to use an air tank on him and blow him up cuz it isn't right for him to not have that experience...He is going back to work on Sunday...His job isn't real strenuous so I think it will be fine...he will work that day and off on Monday, so that will give him a break...He has been walking a lot, in fact he walked a mile with me this afternoon...

Getting really busy here so close to the end of school, so if it is a while that you don't hear from me, it's not because I am not thinking of you all, just extra busy...

Good Luck Priss...tomorrow is going to go great...you'll see...

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is drinking their Water today! lol I have a question that has nuthing to do with our little thread. In the top right corner of each post there is a "Rep power" thingy. Some have 0, some have 1 and some have 2. What is that all about? I know, ask a dumb question...... but I just had to ask. lol

Oh, I think I get it. You can add to each other's reputation. Evidentally we can all sort of "rate" each other's support and helpfulness! Check your boxes out now! I'm going to add to your reps.

I don't know if that green box has anything to do with it or not. I was just on another thread and there was a lady that had a rep power of SEVEN!!! and her little box was still green. Who knows, I just thought it was interesting. But, did you also notice that the Texarkana Banster thread has stars on the page to get to our little discussison. (that make sense?) The listing page for all the different threads on the Texas board. That sounded better. Cool. we have stars! lol

lisa
And we are distinguished. Cool... touch us!!! lol

I think I must have put those stars up because when I was messing with your reps I found the ranking button and ranked our board with 5 stars. I thought it was only showing up on my screen though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
