:faint: Hello there fellow band friends! I' am really anxious about having the Lap band procedure. I Want to know how much of an adjustment is it going to be for me and my family. They are being very supportive, but I'am the back bone of the family and I'am worried about being down to long after the surgery. I also want to know more about what happens when a persons band has erosion.

Please help ease the tension of surgery!!!! :help:

Hi Eva and welcome. I think we all had some level of anxiety before banding. The recovery time varies from person to person. I went back to work to a fairly physical job in just under a week. Others have been off for only 2 or 3 days.

For me, day to day life with my family is not much different. I cook all the same things, I just eat much less of it.

The incidence of erosion is quite small. Remember that you will hear more of the complications on this site than you will of the people just doing alright with their bands.

The best thing to do is just read everything you can here and ask lots of questions. You won't find a more supportive bunch anywhere.

Hi - I am a nurse too and for some reason wasn't scared at all prior to the surgery just excited to get started with the weight loss.

As far as fitting back into normal life - I haven't found it a problem apart from everyone noticing my shrinking girth.

A girl who had her procedure the same days as me - didn't even tell anyone except her husband - her children don't even know - so she must have been able to carry on as normal (except eating way less).

Hope it all goes well - apart from a few minor issues with eating the wrong things and them getting stuch - it is definately the best thing I have ever done.

:)

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
