FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

I haven't had any weight gains but a couple of slow weeks where I lost only a pound or maybe 1/2 pound. I seem to average about 1&1/2 lb a week. I battle head hunger a lot too but I seem to have better self-control most of the time now than I ever had before surgery. I do eat things occasionally that are less than helpful choices for weight loss but I can't eat very much so it hasn't hurt me do far. Very sugary foods make me nauseous so I don't want that stuff as much' date=' LOL! I crave a bowl of Cereal sometimes so I have a little 1/2 cup custard bowl for that. Cracks me up when I think how much I used to eat. I suggest you try upping your daily calories to 1000 and add in some more Protein and also a little Omega 3 fats like avocado, egg, olive oil and see if that helps with the head hunger. The Omega 3 fats are very important for the sense of satiation and for your overall health.

Thanks to your advice I've been losing a pound a day! So happy!

I was sleeved on 2/12 and doing great as well. I'm down 56 lbs and now weighing 205 lbs. I am so close to being under 200 for the first time in 20+ years. So excited I can hardly stand it. I had purchased some size 16 shorts back in Jan for $2.00 hoping to be in them sometime this summer and they already fit. I feel sometimes like I have to pinch myself to keep realizing that this weight loss is real!!

Last week I ate 6 crackers too fast and ended up with nausea and pain. First time in months. Yech it was awful for 15 minutes. Otherwise I'm good!

I was sleeved 2/4/13.

HW 257

SW 241

CW 200

One more lousy pound! Come on! I have not been below 200 in at least 10 years. I was 230 in 2004. Walked all over Europe one summer and lost 15 pounds. Came home and went on Atkins to try and continue on. Got down to 201 and could not make it budge! I finally gave up in despair. I am so looking forward to the next pound. I think it may be the sweetest.

Just wondering how many calories everyone is now consuming and what everyone is eating???? I am taking in about 900-1000 calories a day and eating just about anything except Pasta and some bread products. Still losing weight and working out at least 3 days a week.

Im at 800-900. I try hard to get to 1000 but barely make it. Like you, I eat whatever I want except pasta, only because I get hungry 10 min. later. I was sleeved on 2/12 and down 44 lbs. and started at 204 lbs. Im totally happy except protien intake is hard.

Sleeved 2/26/13 and getting between 800-1000 calories a day. Pretty much eating everything except bread/pasta, I try to stay away from that. I have eaten wheat bread and small tablespoons of rice though they make my tummy feel so heavy. Total 49 pounds lost since surgery/pre op diet. So wanna get to at least 150. Feeling great, trying to continue to track on MFP and often struggling with trying to decrease my carbs. How many carbs are you Feb sleevers taking in?

I eat what I want- I try to get the carbs from fruits and I have to admit my Protein intake and Water is not what it should be at- but I try- I also see an eating disorder specialist therapist once a week-- head hunger etc--

Seems to going well-- was in a tight - wasn't fitting anymore- 26- now my 22 are getting loser---

As of this morning I have lost 54 pounds total. I eat between 800-1000 calories and between 80-100 grams of Protein. I eat pretty much anything but always eat my protein first to make sure I can get it in. My daughter's wedding is this weekend, so excited to wear my new dress, with my tummy sucker on too of course! I haven't seen my son since right after the surgery, so I am excited to see his reaction :)

I'm eating between 1200-1500 calories daily. I know it's a lot but my surgeon told me that I wasn't eating enough at 1000 calories. I feel like I should be losing more weight than I am. But my surgeon told me to eat between 1200-1500 calories. I'm so tempted to eat 1000 calories because everyone else is losing so much more weight than me! I'm losing like 2-3 pounds a week now.

I think 2-3 lbs/week is average or slightly above average if you are at least a couple of months out. Do you exercise also?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
