FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

I will be 7wks post op tomorrow and I constantly has a slight nauseated feeling all the time. Is anyone else experiencing this and if so what helps?

I am right there with you. I am 8 weeks out today and have had constant nausea for the last 2 weeks. I have absolutely no desire to eat or drink anything. The thought of it just makes me sick. I think part of the problem for me is my acid reducer pill. I switched brands and I don't think it works as well. I bought a different one today and hope that helps. switched Maybe try to change yours and see how you do!

No... It's the cereal! Look at the carbs in a small serving! Whoa!

If you figure net carbs the Special K Protein Cereal is not that bad. I eat it about once a week.

I agree. I watch my carbs closely and just deduct it from my daily allowance.

The first month! And if i lie down too soon after eating my stomach really goes wild even nearly a 2 months out, but it's a lot quieter now than early on!

It happens to me too. I ask people if they can hear it and they always say no.

Yes, sometimes there's little squealing noises and air burbles coming out afterwards. I can't avoid it but luckily my Ofc mate is a young male that makes similar sounds, with no qualms so we just say excuse me and carry on. Thank goodness

I will be 8 weeks on monday as of today lost 19 pounds total, less then I have wanted, but slow is ok, don't want hanging skin. I eat 40 carbs a day, I try for 800 some times its more or less, I try to get 80 Protein, adn 64 oz Water, I always have a Protein Shake every day which is 30 grams, I use a 32 oz bpa free water jug and fill it 2 times, so I know I have to keep drinking till end of day. I have not tried raw veggies or fruit yet. Going to wait till 3 months out and then try it, I only have troubles from chicken, it sits weird on tummy, so eating seafood and alot of ground beef ( chili) these days. mary

Has everyone completely cut out alcohol?

I am almost 7 weeks and was told to wait 8.. I had a Malibu rum and crystal light orange (light on the flavoring.) I had no problems and did not even get a buzz. I had in large glass. Malibu is a lower alcohol content...I had one more..drank half but felt nothing... I am an ex bartender and beer drinker...a shot now and then...I could handle my alcohol pre sleeve though. In bar business 19 years..working two jobs...loved the money! If I couldn't or can't in future then I would not drink since I hate drunk girls falling down..lol. Everyone is different so it is hard to say. I am going to miss hot summer days and cold beers but not the calories.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
