I had surgery on feb 18th, so today makes 2 months. I'm down a total of 36 pounds and I'm happy with that. I don't get caught up comparing myself with others. I believe that if I didn't have surgery then today I would be somewhere around the same weight.

My goal for the next month would be to lose at least another 10 pounds. I hope everyone is doing well.

Today is my 2 minth anniversary as well. I'm down 45 pounds and I'm actually working out at a gym 3 Times a week. I'm so glad I decided to have this surgery. I feel better than I have in years.

7 weeks tomorrow since surgery...finally starting to sleep more (anesthesia gives me insomnia) and just found out have to have another surgery to remove 2 golf ball size masses in ovary.....this will be third anesthesia in less than 5 months (had kidney stone surgery end of Nov). In cry mode tonite :( just ready to heal..sleep well...get back to all activities. Hopefully it will go well and won't have to remove ovary....thank goodness for vacation and sick pay.

Sorry you are having so many surgeries. Hopefully this will be the last one and you will be as good as new. Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!

How do you know the difference while walking if you simply have a cramp in your calf muscle or a blood clot? I'm not in terrible pain but don't want it to get worst either.. Or do blood clots not show any early signs?

Are you drinking enough Water?

I had my first experience vomitting/sliming today. I believe its from eating and then taking a sip of a drink too soon after eating. I don't really think its from what I ate.

I feel you there. It sucks! Happens when I eat dense foods too fast.

I was sleeved on Feb 28th and an down 40 lbs as of yesterday, which includes the pre-surgery diet phase. My weight loss has slowed the last few weeks as I've begun to eat more regular food. Also I've been extremely busy with a show that I am in so not able to get in enough exercise. Most of the time I feel fine but I get lightheaded sometimes. I think it might be cuz I'm not getting enough Water. I have to get down on my knees in the show and for the first time in my adult life I can do it gracefully, without having to put my hands down first. Getting up is still a bit of a challenge but I'm working on it! LOL! Keep up the great work fellow February 2013 sleevers!

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 2/26. I am down 48 lbs. I exercise five days a week and eat a strict Atkins type diet. Lean Proteins, small amount of veggies. When I have to have something sweet (which I never had before surgery by the way) I have a slice of orange, unsweetened applesauce, a few grapes. I am working hard on the hunger issue. I have physical hunger if I do not have at least 72 oz of Water a day and do not eat as instructed (every few hours). I still supplement with Protein Shakes. It has been a journey. I do not regret one minute, but it has been a huge lifestyle change. Everyone sounds as if they are having great success. Keep up the good work.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
