I am 9 days post op and eating thick liquids' date=' yogurt, Soup, pudding, sweet potatoes. The last two days I get a pain mid chest when eating, is this heartburn or acid? Anyone experienced this? It is definitely above my stomach[/quote']

I'm 9 days post op also and I was told to only do thin not thick, either pureed or runny. At 2 weeks out your food can get thicker...or ur stomach might be telling you you're full(:

Hello everyone. I had my band removed and converted to the sleeve on the 19th, so I am 11 days post-op. Everything has been pretty good for me so far for the most. Although I did sneeze like 30 minutes ago and It felt like I tore something inside, and not near the incision sights. Does anyone know if it is possible to tear the sutures and staples along the stomach by sneezing?

Hello! I was sleeved on the 25th 4 days ago and I had been doing great up until today! :(

Today I woke up very very sore and started having diarrhea! A lot of it and it hurts to be getting up and down so often!

Any suggestions?

I was sleeved same day as you. I also am more sore today and had one sudden attack of diarrhea today. But just that one time. My Fluid intake has doubled today so I thought that might be the reason

I'm 9 days post-op as well and I'm suffering with the same pain. I quit trying to eat foods and sticking to liquids. I don't go to my first post-op appt until Friday.

It's normal. Tomorrow will be so much better. Jello was first thing I could keep down. Change up the temps. Chew on ice chips. Day 3 & 4 are so much better. I went shopping day 4 & 5.

I am pretty sure it was due to being too thick. I thought if it was soft and mushy that was enough. Water down is now my middle name!

Forgot to mention that I had a benign stomach polyp that was removed during the op. Glad it was benign and is gone!

These gas pains in my chest are excruciating! It's making nauseous. I tried to get a hold of my doctor but he is closed on Friday? I really don't want to take any meds without his consent but I'm dying over here! And I've been walking a lot and it doesn't help :((

If I eat or drink too quickly I get that feeling. Your food can only get in your stomach so fast. Slow down. Take a break between bites. It's your esophagus that's hurting.

Hi again!

Sleeved on the 27th. I thought I would be sleeved around 5pm but they came in around 1:30 or so and were like' date=' let's go! Haha i was shocked and felt immediately nervous. A few tears leaked down as they wheeled me into the operating room. Put myself onto the table, they hooked me up and i was glad they gave no warning about being put to asleep. Just remember my face going hot and then woke up i guess in the icu. Definitely felt pain. Ugh! Was transported to my room and my legs got wrapped around the machine to pump them. Woke up around 5 pm.

Later on they gave me some pain shots, and unfortunately my stomach hated that. Was vomiting foam after every shot. My fiancé finally made it around 9 pm and took care of me. Finally went home on Thursday.

Wasn't allowed to walk much the first day and couldn't really the next day because of how tired i was.

I've been trying to figure out how much i can actually drink without vomiting. Home now and just taking it slow. Day 3 and not much pain. sleeping on and off. I begin work on Monday so I'm trying to rest as i can.

I really can't believe I did it! Crazy that it's done!!

Good luck everyone with trying to adjust![/quote']

Take it slow and easy you will know what you can tolerate. I was sleeved the 19th and working on it one day at a time! Keeping you in prayer!

Hey All' date='

I am very new to this forum(or any forum for that matter). I was just sleeved on 2/15 and I am kind of going through the same thing as a lot of you are. I am craving food like crazy. My doctor said I can finally start mushy foods tomorrow so I am super excited about that!! I feel like my whole life is on hold right now. Between the pain and the food and all that stuff. I find the worst part for me is the constant exhaustion and lack of energy.

This forum has been great really, I love reading everyone's experiences and I am seeing that everyone is really different. However when I am reading all this, some posts are downright scary and they leave me feeling anxious. Some people were saying how after 6 months they stalled and stopped losing or if you don't push yourself in the beginning you'll just gain weight. All that stuff made me feel discouraged because I did not work this had to get here only to fail. I guess basically I just like hearing the success stories.[/quote']

Hey I also wa sleeved on 2/15. I haven't experienced any exhaustion or lack of energy except for the first coupler of days. Did they give you a B12 injection the day after your surgery? I dont have any cravings (yet) either. I just have to remember to eat. The gym has been my release. I just know this is my new life and I want to do all I can to have success. Where are you from and where did you have your surgery?

My brain is an idiot. It refuses to believe that my stomach rules and my Ass is more than happy to help prove the point. Just because you are allowed to eat doesn't mean everything goes, Or rather everything will stay.

I'm suppose to shoot for 1000 cal in the next 2wks.

4 or more meals, using shakes in between meals. Trouble is most things go right thru me, I've been doing soft things, but ether too spice or too many ingredients. And I can't for the life of me drink a shake. I'm still tracking calories and I am still only about 500 a day. Which is not going to help my stalled weight loss. Funny how we no what were doing wrong and yet we "I" , do it anyway.

GAME PLAN FOR TOMMOROW.

Back on shakes for 1 full day, plan and shop meals. Next day start again as prescribed. WISH ME LUCK

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
