I'm glad i found this forum.

I'm on day 3 of the liquid diet and have cheated so far. Teacher's Goodbye lunches and Valentines day. No help whatsoever. Today I did really well. Only a few pieces of chocolates and 1 Peanut Butter cup from my students and 1 piece of bread with my broth. I'm glad I didn't have more. But it was making me nervous that I might have failed completely even though it's early.

I keep having to remind myself that this is in preparation for my surgery and in prep for my new life and that this is NOT a quick diet. I can't keep cheating. I've officially delegated my friend and fiancé to watch me and keep me accountable.

This is super hard!! Good luck everyone!!

I felt the same way when I first started. I wanted foods that I haven't touched or thought about in months! Lol... That's how I knew the shakes were getting to me in a not so good way. But I'm on day 9 & going strong. My eye is on the prize. You can do it. : )

Hehehe good! You know I have my eye on you! And I know you will do good.

As far as the advise you get here about the diet, procedure etc. always do what YOUR doctor asks of you.

After all, are you going to tell him "well this chick online whom I never meet before told me" "go ahead it'll be fine"

The fact of the matter is, its hard I know, I did it!

And I see people everyday coming here knowing full well what their instructions are! Asking for permission to cheat...

It's what we do we are like addicts looking for a way to get what we want despite knowing its wrong . :)

Who are you and what did you do to the real laura-ven????

Who are you and what did you do to the real laura-ven????

Oh I'm the same girl I was a couple of months ago!!

I have never advocated "cheating"

But I'm not ever going to judge someone for their

"Weakness" when it comes to pre op or post op diets because, face it, we all came here because of the power that food has (had) over of us!

:)

On that note Stef,

How's it going? You are what three weeks now?

Are you back to work?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
