Obsidian 26 Posted February 10, 2013 Ugh I'm five days going on six out from surgery and for the last couple of days I have been getting this pressure like I need to burp but do not actually burp nearly 50percent of the time. Plus there are lots of bubbles going through my stomach like I'm hungry and down into my gut. Guess I'm nervous again if this is normal. Lol worry worry worry It's like this pressure in my stomach and I keep swallowing to alleviate it or I try to burp. It's not constant but it is very frequent. Anyone else? roxannez 27 Posted February 10, 2013 You are not alone. I burp like a frat boy. Still, at 10 days postop it's significantly improved. I hope it'll get better and better as time goes on. Good luck! And it can be worse, right? Can you imagine if we were farting this much instead of burping?
Obsidian 26 Posted February 10, 2013 Haha I think honestly I would prefer farts. Sent from my Note 10.1 using VST
juny 93 Posted February 10, 2013 uhh...farting is usually not an entirely dry event....just you know...from experience. if it doesn't hurt to burp I'd take the burping.
Obsidian 26 Posted February 10, 2013 Still.. At least farts make my husband giggle like a school boy. Sent from my Note 10.1 using VST
JP69 116 Posted February 10, 2013 I still burp and have pressure occasionally, especially when I take one bite to many, and I'm 4 weeks out. The stomach gurgling is normal, its just air from eating and drinking. Does keep getting better as time goes by.
doreen70 268 Posted February 10, 2013 Pressure is what I feel when I eat too much. And burping will soon follow. Eating too much happens when I eat too fast. When I eat slowly, I can easily pick up on the full feeling. And once my husband hears me sigh, he asks if I'm done. And I'll give him my plate. Once I was able to start eating real food, I bought myself some pretty saucers to make mealtime not so boring.
sleeve2013 0 Posted February 10, 2013 Day 6 of post op for myself and woke up this morning with a tight upper chest. Although it's the same feeling I've had since right after surgery, I did have sips of Hot and Sour Soup broth last night ( big hunger craving yesterday but manageable ) and think it may have been too spicy this early into the surgery. The biggest thing I have found that works is getting up and walk. Went to the mall last night with the family and although I was a bit tired, it felt good. Everyone has said the walking pushes the gas. Also deep breaths the minute the chest starts to get tight.
