first pureed foods fail.

Recommended Posts

Okay so Breakfast was ok. A 1 egg white scrambled. Tolerated ok.

lunch, pureed carrots. Made my tummy hurt and gave me a case of terminal belching.

dinner at parents was beef pot roast, carrots and potatos with salad. I took a tiny piece of meat, a tiny tater piece and a tiny carrot and put it on food processor with some gravy and chopped it all up. It taste delish but it hurt and same outcome as the carrots so it was a fail. Maybe too soon or too rich. :(

Sorry, I know that is frustrating but just know that before you know it, you will be able to eat those things NOT pureed. Just take your time and dont get discouraged. Good luck!

In my limited experience (almost 4months post op), veggies give me trouble unless they are cooked to death! I can just eat a bite or two of raw veggies, like in a salad. I even prefer mushy food still over feeling like I'm going to be sick or there's an elephant sitting on my chest! it's a slow process adding new foods and different consistencies day by day. I feel more in control when my food is softer - firm foods-I'll tend to over-eat that one more bite ...too late-I feel sick! Softer foods I know I'm safe for 1/4-1/3 cup serving.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
