I will be 3 months out on 2/20. Feel great, but have had pneumonia for the last 3 weeks. Other than that, I'm doing really well. Have lost 42 lbs hoping for 50 by the 3 month mark, but probably am going to come up a bit short since I was on steroids for a few days. Go to the gym 5 days working on my Couch 2 5k project so all is good right now. Never had a day of nausea, never have thrown up. Sticking to plan that my nutritionist and I drew up together. Just wish I had done it a long time ago.

I feel great. 7 almost 8 weeks out. Surgery went great. Down almost 50 pounds from highest weight. 32+ since surgery 12/19. I have RA and degenerative disc disease that I am under treatment for so I exercise but can't do it as intense as others and am on hold from lifting weights. But I'm very satisfied with my progress. Have gone from size 18 jeans to 12 since operation. I got sick from an allergic reaction to something cause I broke out in hives and had nausea/ vomiting & the big "D" but not surgery related. I posted about but doc says no worries and I feel great two days after. Is all good!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
