How long did your dry mouth last

Recommended Posts

Drinking 80-100 oz a day. I have a CPAP, and it is humidified, but I am waking up about 8 times a night with the dryest mouth. Nee a few sprays of Biotene then back to sleep.

Anyone have this and when does it go away?

I'm 13 weeks post op. I get dry mouth fairly regularly and it's generally when the scales are moving.

My belief is that my dry mouth is from being in a state of ketosis. Keep sipping!

Cheers,

Deano

I have a CPAP and get dry mouth almost every night. But it has been happening since I started using the CPAP machine 3 years ago. I just figured it was normal.

I am pre-op and I have dry mouth and furry teeth whenever I'm in a state of ketosis. Typically, I stay in Ketosis if I'm under 40ish carbs... or like now when my carbs are sometimes a bit higher than that, but my overall calories are under 800.

I have been using my cpap for 8yrs now. I stopped using the humidifier about 3years ago and once I got use to not using my dry mouth has one away for the most part.

I'm almost 4 weeks post-op and wake up every night with dry mouth! I'm hitting 64oz of liquid daily. So I tried to up it yesterday to eliminate that terrible nightly dry mouth. But I still had it last night! I will keep trying to up the liquids. It's like a hangover without all of the fun!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
