Im having a moment of regret

Recommended Posts

Hi! I just had surgery too, I'll be 4 weeks out on Monday. It still gets emotionally difficult for me as well. I get frustrated and question whether I made a good decision. Just know that ur not alone in that and it's not a crazy thought. It's good that u came on here and vented it. It's important to be honest about it, even if others don't get it or say its never happened to them. Ur post is about u and ur feelings. Keep takin it one day at a time. Good luck to you

Im about 2 1/2 mths out and I so have had those moments where I have thought to myself Why did I do this!! But I got to say it has been good lately and I promise you when your stomach heals a little more believe me you will feel so much better!! I was on a liquid diet 6 wks after surgery and I thought I was going to go crazy!!! All the holidays and food and I had so many mixed feeling and emotions!! It's ok to vent and even sometimes break down I cant lie I've even cried a little bit!! But Im telling you it will get BETTER!!! GOOD LUCK!!!! GIRLY!!!

I just had a break down ..it's so hard some days ..my husband feels helpless but I educated him from the beginning so he would kno what to expect and I told to never let me give up no matter if I say I regret it cause I kno things will get better

You are so right, it does get better. It gets better a tiny bit at a time until somewhere down the road you wake up and realize that you are doing this and that you feel good again. Hang in there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
