Yeah people AND doctors have different ideas on all of this ... My advice? Don't listen to any of us to much (even me) take only your doctors word on your care and diet :)

I'm not trying to down play that he shouldn't be eating solids but scaring the guy to death is a little over the top in my opinion.

RxKid....Don't eat that stuff anymore!! If you don't have anything mushy or liquidity just stick with Protein shakes until blizzard is over!

I'm sure you're fine. Try to relax because you'll work yourself up to thinking you're having symptoms that aren't there! Trust me, there are many people who have done the same thing. Now, go drink a shake and enjoy the snow!n :)

At some point I think all of us have done something and thought **** did I ruin my sleeve!

Your not alone on that :) do you know that some people have six weeks of just fluids after surgery? Crazy!

But did you know some people can start soft food type things after a week? Crazy

It's all over the place as far as what is right...

The one thing I will say is that at this stage you will not "feel" it if you eat to much so you need to measure everything you eat! No matter what kind of food you are cleared to eat :)

I was told by my doc to eat anything I want. In small portions after two weeks. But like you I felt great at day 10 so I tryed different little solids foods and felt fine. I asked my doc about leaks but he said the titanium cord and staples are very strong. And I will be fine. I asked about Beans he said Beans should be week 3

Relax! I was cleared by my surgeon to eat reg food around that time! All docs have different ideas! Just like mine doesn't require a pre-op diet! If I lived eating food by permission...you should be fine. I would check with your doc as soon as you can & follow his advice!

I was eating solids 1 week postop on orders from my dr. I clearly didn't die, but I did learn what meats I could tolerate better than others. They even cleared me to have multigrain toast. Bad choice! Came right up & haven't touched bread since. (Sleeved almost 5 months ago) 76 pounds lost so far. For some reason I can't tolerate eggs so I stay away from it. Same as you - only about 4 bites & I'm done. Good luck! Don't stress.

You'll be fine....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
